FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to methods of production of granules of metal materials with quasi-crystalline structure and can be implemented for fillers of composite materials. The method consists in production of separate granules of material of required chemical composition corresponding to inter-metallic quasi-crystalline structure and in thermal treatment of granules. Thermal treatment is executed in inert gas atmosphere by means of granules transmission through three temperature zones. Temperature of the first zone should ensure forming structure of a pre-cursor of quasi-crystalline phase in granules. Temperature of the second zone should facilitate forming quasi-crystalline phase in granules. Ultra-rapid crystallisation of granules takes place in the third zone.
EFFECT: production of powder quasi-crystalline material of spherical form of one-phase crystal structure.
