FIELD: heating device.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to induction-resistive heating devices based on skin effect and can be used in devices for preventing formation of paraffin hydrates in oil and gas wells and pipelines, as well as for heating of viscous products in pipelines and containers for transportation and transfer. Heating cable based of skin effect includes central conductor, inner insulating layer and located coaxially ferromagnetic external conductor. Internal insulation layer is made from polymer material. External conductor is made in the form of a corrugated steel pipe with wall thickness of less than three thicknesses of skin layer at operating frequency of supply voltage. Heating device consists of a piece of the above described heating cable and double-phase AC source. First alternating current source output is connected to the proximal end of centre conductor and the second one - to the proximal end of outer conductor. At the distal end of said cable section the central and outer conductors are closed to each other. Heating method consists in heating using skin effect within external conductor heating cable by current supply from the industrial mains to the input of AC source of this heating device.
EFFECT: invention allows to simplify operation due to increased flexibility of heating cable and reducing power consumption during its operation.
