FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to production of sorbents for gas and liquid chromatography and can be used in various branches of industry when determining compositions of multicomponent mixes. Monodisperse spherical granules of divinylbenzene copolymers that are used as sorbents are obtained by precipitative polymerization of divinylbenzene with substituted styroles or derivatives of acrylic acid in the medium of acetonitrile in the presence of an initiator and a stabiliser at the temperature of 50-82 °C and stirring. Amides of aliphatic carboxylic acids of general formula
are used as a low-molecular weight stabiliser, where R1-alkyl, arylalkyl; R2 R3-alkyl or biradical with 3-5 atoms, m is a total number of carbon atoms in a straight or branched chain, equalling 2-14 with concentration of stabiliser in a reaction mixture 2·10-3-0.2 mol/l.
EFFECT: method allows to obtain monodisperse spherical particles of divinylbenzene copolymers in given sizes in the range of 0/2-4/0 µm, containing not less than 45 % of across-linking agent, under the conditions that provide the maximum output of the end product per a unit volume of the reaction mixture.
