FIELD: chemical or physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing aminomethylated bead polymerisates. Said method involves the following steps: a) converting monomer droplets into a bead polymerisate from a mixture containing at least one monovinylaromatic compound, at least one polyvinylaromatic compound and at least one initiator; b) reacting the obtained bead polymerisate with at least one compound of formula (I)
where R1 denotes alkyl with 1–3 carbon atoms or hydrogen, and with at least one compound of formula (II) in which n equals 2 to 100, in the presence of at least one aliphatic saturated carboxylic acid halide and in the presence of aliphatic saturated carboxylic acids and at least one Friedel—Crafts catalyst; c) hydrolysis of obtained phthalimide methylated bead polymerisate to aminomethylated bead polymerisate.
EFFECT: said method enables to obtain aminomethylated bead polymerisates with high output without using chlorinated organic solvents.
