FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to universal joints, intended for transfer of rotation with misalignment of axes of connected shafts from engine to working mechanisms, for example, in rolling, transport and other equipment. Ball hinge comprises a collar and a sleeve with semi-cylindrical slots, in which there are inserts. Semi-cylindrical slots are concentric relative to centre of hinge, inserts have outer surface in form of semi-cylindrical slots, and are in contact with each other on spherical surface, centre of which is located in centre of hinge, wherein at centre there are hemispherical slots in which there are spheres.
EFFECT: proposed design solution increases its load-carrying capacity, durability, increases angle of skew and provides transmission of rotation with equal angular speed.
