Method of measuring depth of immersion, including radiation two successive probing signals from moving carrier, receiving echo signals of hydroacoustic antenna mounted on a support, measurement of distance D1 according to first probing signal, measurement of distance D2 in second probing signal, measurement of own carrier speed Vdv, consists in that is formed on a hydroacoustic antenna receiving static fan of directivity characteristics in horizontal plane, receiving echo signals with static fan of directivity characteristics in horizontal plane, measuring radial speed of approach to object Vr. izm(t+t), measurement of direction of natural movement of the carrier, direction of arrival of echo signal is measured between direction of carrier and direction of arrival of echo signal Q°, determining speed of approach to object taking into account difference between direction of movement and position of object in horizontal plane Vsb.gor = Vr.izm/cos Q°, define cosine angle of position of object relative to direction of motion in vertical plane cosU°=Vsb.gor/Vdv, and depth of immersion of object is determined by formula

EFFECT: technical result is improved accuracy of measuring depth of immersion of object using sonar.
