METHOD OF PRODUCING BRANCHED AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE RESIN WITH REQUIRED DEGREE OF BRANCHING Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C08G64/04

Abstract RU 2591189 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing branched aromatic polycarbonate resin. Described is a method of producing branched aromatic polycarbonate resin, having required degree of branching, through which an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer, having a branched structure fitted using a predetermined amount of branching agent, is subjected to linking reaction and deep polymerisation at low pressure with aliphatic diol compound of aliphatic hydrocarbon group connected with terminal OH-groups, where degree of branching is defined as a measure of structural viscosity, N-value, represented by following mathematical formula (I): N-value = (log(Q160)-log(Q10))/(log160-log10) (I), where “Q160” represents a volume of consumable fluid per unit time (ml/s), measured in conditions of 280 °C and load 160 kg, and “Q10” is consumable volume of fluid medium per unit time (ml/s), measured in conditions of 280 °C and load 10 kg, where a predetermined amount of branching agent is specified so that correlation between amount of branching agent (A) and degree of branching (N-value) satisfies following mathematical formula (II): N-value = K1A + K2 (II), where K1 is a constant number from 0.1 to 2.0 and K2 is a constant number from 1,05 to 1,5 and where required degree of branching (N-value) ranges from 1.1 to 2.2. Also described is a branched aromatic polycarbonate resin obtained using said method.

EFFECT: obtaining high-molecular branched aromatic polycarbonate resin, having required degree of branching in mild conditions.
