SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aromatic polycarbonate resins with low content of volatile impurities, as well as methods of obtaining said resins. The aromatic polycarbonate resin with viscosity-average molecular weight between 13000 and 30000 and containing at least one of structural units of formulae (1)-(5) is obtained via re-esterification of an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a carboxylic acid diester. The amount of the residual aromatic monohydroxy compound and the amount of the residual aromatic dihydroxy compound in the resin is, in each case, not more than 20 pts/mln. Total amount of said structural units is between 1000 and 6000 pts/mln. The method of producing aromatic polycarbonate resins with low content of volatile impurities involves treatment of the resin in molten state in order to remove volatile impurities, carried out after passing the resin through a polymer filter.

EFFECT: obtaining aromatic polycarbonate resins with considerably low content of volatile impurities.
