FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for the continuous production of high-molecular weight polycarbonate resin comprising step (A) of preparing aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer by a polycondensating reaction between an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a carbonic diester, step (B) of adding an aliphatic diol compound having an aliphatic group that is bonded to the terminal hydroxyl group, to the aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer produced in step (A) to produce a prepolymer mixture, and step (C), at which the prepolymer mixture produced in step (B) is subjected to the crosslinking reaction and formation of high-molecular polymer at a pressure of 10 mm Hg. or lower; where the concentration of the terminal hydroxyl group of the aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer produced in step (A) is 1500 ppm or less, in step (C) the aliphatic diol compound is added to the aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer produced in step (A), at a pressure exceeding 200 mm Hg. producing the prepolymer mixture, and then the prepolymer mixture is subjected to crosslinking and formation of high-molecular weight polymer at a pressure of 10 mm Hg. or lower in step (C) until the terminal hydroxyl group concentration of the aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer in the prepolymer mixture reaches 2000 ppm, the boiling point of the aliphatic diol compound is 350°C or lower.

EFFECT: production of a resin with the achievement of a high polymerization degree while maintaining its specific properties.
