FIELD: personal hygiene items.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for personal hygiene products containing a moisture-activated composition which acquires lubricating properties only upon contact with moisture, for example, located on surfaces of mucous membranes of body. Tampon applicator comprises a moisture-activated composition, wherein composition comprises a hydrophobic carrier, a high molecular weight polymer having molecular weight between about 850,000 and 8,000,000 Da, and one or more surfactants selected from C₁₂-C₁₅ Pareth-7 and sorbitan monooleate.

EFFECT: reduction of discomfort, which can accompany the insertion and removal of personal hygiene items.
