SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of controlling process of operation and repair of wells and can be used to measure length of tubing string, as well as identification thereof during tripping operations on well. Method of determining length of tubing string of pipes and identification thereof during tripping operations includes installation on coupling of each tubing of micro-container, in which is tightly fixed by means of a compound an electronic marker, made in form of a microchip with initial information on length of tubing string and its size. During lowering or lifting of tubing string into memory of microchip are recorded additionally date and time of operations carried out. Information from microchip is read during rotation of tubing string by a scanner installed together with an antenna at wellhead, and transmitted to controller, where formation of accumulating part is carried out: summation of total length of tubing string and time of its operation.
EFFECT: shorter time for round-trip operations due to elimination of manual labour during measurement of tubing string, and accounting for objective information on operation time of underground equipment.
