FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an explosion-proof design of a housing, and also a method for production thereof. Production of explosion-proof housing with type of explosion protection ex-d starts with two sheet blanks which are bent in a U-shaped manner. Said sheet blanks are joined, bound and then finally welded together, without provision of a weld seam, by a circumferential fillet weld. One of cups of housing has at least one opening, wherein input of cores or cable is located in said opening for electrical connection between electric components inside housing and outside housing, wherein input includes a seal for tight securing of input inside housing, and seal comprises a coupling nut for simultaneous fixation of input and closing of opening.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of a concept, in accordance with which can be produced an explosion-proof housing using a simple and reliable method, if possible, automatically.
