FIELD: explosion-proof enclosure.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a gas-tight housing with the type of protection "explosion-proof enclosure" for housing electrical, electronic or also other components that can be sources of initiation of an explosion. The invention relates primarily to a large volume housing with several housing compartments, preferably with several housing compartments of 10 litres each, for use in explosive environments. The technical result is achieved by the fact that the housing (14), which is not sealed with respect to gas permeability, with the type of explosion protection "explosion-proof enclosure" for accommodating electrical or electronic components capable of being sources of initiation of an explosion, has the body (15) of the housing, which is configured to limit the internal space for placement of electrical or electronic components and has an opening (16) limited by a flange (18), and also has one or more holes equipped with flame arresters, consisting of elements having narrow channels and/or pores and therefore being gas permeable. It has a cover (17), which has an edge (20) adjacent to the flange (18) with an edge surface (21). It has clamps (22), which are located along the flange (18) and the edge (20) with gaps between them and are made covering the edge (20) and the flange (18) in order to press the edge (20) against the flange (18) with or without a gasket, and which are movably mounted on the body (15) of the housing or on the cover (17) with the possibility of rotation around the rotary axis (34). Each clamp (22) has a clamping surface (29) and a clamping means (30) located opposite it and is movably installed between the opening position, in which it does not cover the edge (20), and the closing position, in which it surrounds the edge (20), and associated with each clip (22) is an open position locking means that locks the clip (22) in the open position, and a closed position locking means (37) that ensures that the clip (22) is in the desired predetermined position.
EFFECT: increasing the explosion resistance of the housing shell due to reliable holding of the edge of the cover and the flange together.
