FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil industry and can be used in operation of oil gathering pipeline and to maintain the reservoir pressure of an oil deposit. Method of operating an oil gathering pipeline and maintaining the reservoir pressure of an oil deposit involves creating potential difference between pipelines and earth leads, electrical disconnection of the point of convergence of pipelines and the pipelines themselves by means of insulating inserts, measurement of difference of potentials between the ends of the electric insulation insert and/or measurement of voltage drop on insulating insert, installation of protective potential value providing the required length of the protected zone, use of dielectric material of outer insulation of pipelines, control of tightness of the pipeline and integrity of its outer insulation. Stationary measuring non-polarised electrodes of prolonged comparison are arranged near each pipeline; auxiliary steel potential sensors are arranged perpendicular to the pipeline axis. Electric switching of pipeline with inflated potential value to the pipeline with low potential value is performed and the value of installed potentials on both pipelines is adjusted; periodic determination of potentials using stationary measuring non-polarised reference electrodes with prolonged comparison and auxiliary steel potential sensors on switched pipelines with identification of each measurement in time and break of switching when the protective polarisation potential of the pipeline reaches the normal value, adjustment of protective potential at the point of creating potential difference between pipelines and earth leads, based on the results of periodic determination of potentials using stationary measuring non-polarised reference electrodes with prolonged comparison and auxiliary steel potential sensors.

EFFECT: energy saving and elimination of corrosion of pipeline areas near the insulating inserts.
