FIELD: turbomachines.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to films of damping fluid of guide bearing of turbomachine shaft and more specifically relates to control of thickness of such a film of damping fluid. Turbomachine includes casing (1) extending along axis of shaft (2) of turbomachine, guide bearing (3) including inner circular ring (31) rigidly connected with shaft (2) of turbomachine, and outer circular ring (32) installed in support means (4) of casing (3), between which there are elements (33) and damping chamber (C) intended to receive damping fluid, forming a film of damping fluid of guide bearing (3), radially confined between external surface of external ring (31) and internal surface of support means (4). In turbomachine external surface (S1) of external ring (32) and inner surface of support are tapered surfaces. Turbomachine comprises means for control of axial position of support ring (4) relative to casing (1) comprising control gasket (5), which is detachably mounted on support ring (4). Also disclosed is a method of controlling film thickness of damping fluid guide bearing (3) of shaft (2) of turbomachine in casing (1) of turbomachine.

EFFECT: technical result is controlling film thickness of damping fluid for improvement of damping in operation.
