SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metrology. Sensor is installed in body of insulating material, its width is equal to width of protective device, and height makes it possible to install sensor in standard rack mounting board. Device comprises through holes to supply conductors to terminals of current measurement device. Sensitive element used is a magnetic current sensor, which comprises a magnetic core, surrounding terminal, an air gap, around which, between two end sections of magnetic core restricting air gap, a measurement coil is wound. Device also comprises a second measurement coil. Core is made up of parts made of nanocrystalline material or material with chemical composition FeSi or FeNi. Said core consists of I-shaped parts, each configured to direct magnetic flux into appropriate air gap. Ends of branches of I-shaped parts are designed to shut off coil.
EFFECT: providing compact design while maintaining preset accuracy requirements, compensation of external magnetic fields.
