FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: according to the invention, functional unit (4) for substation (1) of medium voltage contains a rectangular casing made of multiple compartments, among which there is a compartment forming functional group (5), superimposed onto compartment (8) for laying cables, wherein both are adjacent with the compartment forming vent pipe (9). Vent pipe (9) is located on one edge of the casing of functional unit (4) and extends throughout its height and is formed by four corner posts (502) and two quads of crosswise elements (504) to form ribs of a rectangle, the volume of which is 15–30 % of the casing volume and which determines: three external walls of substation (1) containing a rear wall, a top wall and a bottom wall closed with panels. Two side walls form external walls of the said unit (4) containing holes (500) separated by supporting crosswise elements (506) equipped with means (520) providing the possibility to absorb mechanical energy. Separation wall forms a wall inside the said unit and is partially covered by a face plate.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of removing gases caused by an internal short circuit of the substation.
