FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a content server of a global hypertext system. Server comprises a communication interface unit with a global computer network, memory for storing content, a registration unit and a control unit. Memory stores a group of content items, where for each item, required number of hits during a given period of time is defined. Registration unit stores last value of time spent by server on servicing content item. Control unit calculates for each content item, minimum for content item period of time based on information on required number of hits of said content item and a given period of time and selects content item for transmission through said communication interface unit of content items, for which duration of time between current time and time value stored in registration unit exceeds minimum period of time calculated for content item.

EFFECT: high degree of optimisation of production processes in global hypertext system.
