SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to wireless medical devices, particularly to wireless networks of sensors, and can be used for monitoring physiological data of a patient and transmitting data to a control system. Wireless medical device (12) includes at least one sensor (14, 18, 22) which monitors physiological data of a patient and an actuator (26) which delivers therapy to patient. Wireless transceiver (16, 20, 24, 28) transmits and receives information packets related to at least one of monitored physiological data and delivered therapy. Wireless transceiver has a duty-cycle limit, which is a maximum time for transmission within a predetermined time window. Duty-cycle module (50) determines duty-cycle parameters for wireless transceiver according to duty-cycle limit. Communication module (60) controls transceiver to broadcast at least one duty-cycle parameter when transmitting an information packet or when acknowledging receiving an information packet from a neighbouring wireless medical device.
EFFECT: higher reliability of wireless medical devices due to improved compliance with set requirements and optimisation of transmitting critical medical information.
