Method includes steps whereat: piecewise linear approximation of image data is determined; bone mask is determined based on image data; distribution map of contrast agent is determined based on piecewise linear approximation and bone mask; enhanced distribution map of contrast agent is determined based on distribution map of contrast agent and at least one of parameters; data additional to piecewise linear approximation is determined, based on image data and piecewise linear approximation; and image data with enhanced CNR is determined based on additional data and enhanced distribution maps of contrast agent for piecewise linear approximation.

EFFECT: reduced amount of contrast agent introduced for scanning patients.
