SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to compounds of cover agent containing at least one compound with polyhydroxylic group (A), at least one compound with polyisocyanate group (B) and at least one catalyst (D) based on zinc-amidin complex. Described is compound of cover agent, containing at least one compound with polyhydroxylic group (A), at least one compound with polyisocyanate group (B) with free and/or blocked isocyanate groups and at least one catalyst (D) based on zinc-amidin complex which can be obtained by reacting less than 1.0 mole of one or several zinc(II)biscarboxylates with less than 2.0 moles of amidin with formula (I) or less than 2.0 moles of mixture from two or more amidines with formula (I) , where R5=hydrogen and R1, R2, R3 and R4 in each case are identical or different residues, wherein R1 and R3 represent hydrogen or alkyl residue, or aryl residue and R2 and R4 represent alkyl or aryl residue. Also disclosed is multi-step method of coating, when, if necessary, pigmented layer of base lacquer is applied onto preliminarily coated substrate and layer from compound of cover agent at one of points from 1 to 12, or, when pigmented or nonpigmented layer from said compound of cover agent is applied onto preliminarily coated substrate, if necessary. Described is use of cover agent compounds as transparent lacquer or pigmented lacquer for repair varnishing of cars and/or for coating vehicle hinged parts, and/or polymer substrates, and/or freight vehicles and using said method for repair varnishing of cars and/or for coating polymer substrates and/or freight vehicles. Description of invention relates to application of at least one zinc-amidin complex (D), which can be obtained by reacting less than 1.0 mole of one or more zinc(II)biscarboxylates with less than 2.0 moles of one or several amidines with formula (I), and if necessary, at least one monomer aromatic carboxylic acid (S), carboxyl group of which is interfaced with π-system of electrons, as catalyst system for catalysis of urethane reaction in cover agent compounds which contain at least one compound with polyisocyanate group and at least one compound with polyhydroxylic group.

EFFECT: obtaining cover agent compound which provides good mounting strength, fast curing, has good working life, provides coating with good deep hardening and satisfactory final hardness, does not show colour change before and after hardening.
