FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aqueous composition for coating a metal substrate. Said composition includes at least one first polymer (A) as the first binder, at least one cross-linking agent (B) and at least one copolymer (C) as the second binder. Said copolymer (C) is obtained by copolymerizing ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of a polyurethane resin having polymerizable carbon double bonds. Further, the weight ratio of polymer (A) to polymer (C) is greater than 3.0. Also the invention relates to a method for producing a topcoat on a metal substrate, which comprises applying and subsequently curing said coating composition on a metal substrate, and also to a metal substrate coated according to the method of the invention.
EFFECT: invention provides improved resistance to abrasive wear of the films of the topcoat.
