SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Metal article is obtained by continuous casting on foundry line comprising a crystalliser, in which liquid metal meniscus level is determined, one or more rolls for soft reduction of ingot, cylinders to drive one or more rolls. Along casting line are located regions for feeding periodic pulse oscillations. Oscillations are generated by means of drive cylinders of rolls for performing soft reduction. Oscillations are fed in series into two regions, frequency of oscillations of meniscus level in crystalliser is determined, oscillation frequency of meniscus level in crystalliser is compared with frequency of at least two regions.
EFFECT: accurate detection of point completion of crystallisation of metal article.
