FIELD: technological processes; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to catalyst composition for producing alcohols by Fischer Tropsch synthesis comprising cobalt (Co) and molybdenum (Mo) on the substrate of activated carbon (C), the relative molar ratio of elements in said composition is represented by formula: CoaMobMcC, where M represents one or more elements selected from a group consisting of alkali metals and alkali-earth metals; a is equal to 1E-3 - 0.3; b is equal to 1E-3 - 0.9; c is equal to 0 - 1E-2. Note here that said Co and Mo are in metal mold, and said catalyst composition has surface area of at least 320 m2/g calculated by BET method. The invention also relates to a method of producing the disclosed catalytic composition.
EFFECT: using the disclosed composition in Fischer Tropsch synthesis increases degree of CO conversion and selectivity of the process with respect to alcohols.
