SUBSTANCE: invention relates to military equipment, particularly to methods of storage of GAM of middle and long range. Method for long-term storage of surface-to-air missiles of middle and long range in recessed shafts consists in storage of missiles in sealed containers (SC). Missile in SC during storage are placed vertically in ground in absorbing concrete shaft at a depth exceeding depth of soil freezing with connector of on-board control of equipment led to the surface.

EFFECT: increased service life of GAM, possibility of hidden and distributed long-term storage of GAM, as well as their storage of similar method in areas of rivers and water bodies, possibility to create caches with operational reserves of missiles in potentially important areas with poor road network.
