FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a handling module for handling vehicle wheels in an installation for surface treatment thereof. Handling module comprises at least two gripping units (32a, 32b) which are supported by frame structure (16), each of which comprises a plurality of press-on elements (60a, 60b) which are pressed onto one or more counter surfaces (62) of an individual vehicle wheel (12). At least one of gripping units (32A, 32b) includes a translation device (66a, 66b) by which press-on elements (60a, 60b) are movable in relation to frame structure (16) with a movement component which is parallel to axis of rotation (R) of gripped vehicle wheel (12). Press-on elements (60a, 60b) of gripping unit (32a, 32b) are carried by respective rod elements (58a, 58b) and constructed as contact pressure plates which pressed by their outer edge against outer surface (62) of vehicle wheel (12).

EFFECT: invention provides accuracy of controlling movement of press-on elements.
