FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry of elements, specifically to methods of determining concentration of palladium and can be used during determination thereof in process solutions and industrial water. Method involves preparing a sorbent and solution of palladium (II), extraction of palladium (II) from a solution of sorbent, conversion thereof into a complex compound on surface of sorbent, separating sorbent from solution, measurement of colour intensity of palladium (II) surface complex and determining content of palladium (II) using a calibration curve. Sorbent used is silica, successively modified with polyhexamethylene guanidine and 2-nitroso-1-naphthol-4-sulphonic acid (nitroso-H-salt), and diffuse reflection factor is measured at 550 nm.
EFFECT: use of method provides high-accuracy determination of content of palladium (II) in solutions.
