FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for acceleration of processes of thickening and filtration of suspensions by forming loose flaky units of fine particles of a disperse phase. Method of producing a flocculant in form of a polymer-colloidal complex involves mixing a polymer base and an ionic compound. Polymer base is 1 % aqueous solution of polyacrylamide. Ionic compound used is a colloidal solution of cationic or anionic polyelectrolyte. Cationic polyelectrolyte used is polyethyleneimine or poly-4-vinylpyridine, and anionic polyelectrolyte is sodium polyacrylate or sodium alginate.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of flocculants based on polyacrylamide, obtaining a flocculant with a given number of ionic active groups.
