FIELD: engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to online detection of deterioration of electric motor insulation. With the help of a converter cascade voltage is applied to the engine winding (windings). Induced current (i) and/or its temporary leakage (di/dt) is recorded as a measuring signal using sensor (6, 7, 8). Then it is resampled with a frequency higher then the one that is typical for its oscillation. Obtained oversampled signal is analyzed using such parametric values of transient process, as redundant pulse (Δh), and/or intrinsic frequency (1/Δt), and/or damping constant, to detect possible deterioration of insulation condition.

EFFECT: technical result is reliability of online detection of deterioration of insulation at minimal hardware costs.
