PEEK-RICH BONE SCREW Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61F2/08

Abstract RU 2600284 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: series of inventions relates to medicine. Surgical screw for anchoring a flexible member to a bone by the first version comprises a rod having a proximal end and a distal end, primary thread located on the rod and extending from the distal end towards the proximal end, and a set of the secondary threaded turns located on the primary thread. Primary thread comprises the first and the second section. As the first section has an end edge, so the second section does. End edge of the first section is sharper than the end edge of the second section. Set of the secondary threaded turns passes together only with the second section of the primary thread. Method of anchoring of the flexible element to the bone comprises the following steps: formation of a hole in the bone; arrangement of the section of the flexible element in said hole; anchoring of the flexible element to the bone using an interference device. Said interference device comprises a rod and a set of the secondary threaded turns located on the primary thread. Rod comprises a proximal end and a distal end, primary thread located on the rod and extending from the distal end towards the proximal end. Surgical screw for anchoring a flexible member to a bone by the second version comprises a rod, extending between the proximal end and the distal end and having the surface and the primary thread located on said surface of the rod. Primary thread has the first threaded section and the second threaded section. As the first section has an end edge, so the second section does. First threaded section extends from the distal end of the rod towards to the proximal end of the rod. Second threaded section follows in series the first threaded section on the rod. End edge of the first threaded section is sharper than the end edge of the second threaded section. First threaded section has a length of 50% to 70% of the length of the primary thread. Transition between the first threaded section and the second threaded section, and the transition is sharp. Surgical screw for anchoring a flexible member to a bone by the third version comprises a rod, extending between the proximal end and the distal end and having the surface, the primary thread and a set of the secondary threaded turns, located on the top of the primary thread projection, meanwhile the number of the secondary threaded turns on each top of the primary thread projection, increases from the distal to the proximal direction. Primary thread is located on said surface of the rod. Said primary thread comprises a continuous helical ridge that curves around the shaft of the screw and has a top. Surgical screw for anchoring a flexible member to a bone by the fourth version, note that said device comprises the rod with the proximal end and the distal end, the set of the secondary threaded turns located on the primary thread, and the head located on the proximal end of the rod. Said head comprises an engagement surface configured and arranged in a way to receive coupled drive shaft of the tool. Set of the secondary threaded turns passes along the upper section of the primary thread. Set of the secondary threaded turns extends beyond the primary thread in the proximal direction along the rod. Primary thread has a periodicity. Set of the secondary threaded turns has a periodicity. Periodicity of the primary thread and of the set of the secondary threaded turns is equal, in fact. Primary thread comprises a continuous helical ridge curved around the shaft of the screw. Set of the secondary threaded turns is located and passes on said continuous helical ridge of the primary thread around the rod. Set of the secondary threaded turns is additionally located between the turns of the continuous helical ridge. Primary thread comprises the first and the second section. As the first section has an end edge, so the second section does. End edge of the first section is sharper than the end edge of the second section and contains transition between the first section and the second section, and said transition is sharp. Set of the secondary threaded turns consists of multiple threaded turns. Primary thread has a height of the thread profile, and the set of the secondary threaded turns has the height of the thread profile, and the height of the set of the secondary threaded turns profile is less than 20% of the primary thread profile height.

EFFECT: inventions ensure an intensification of anchoring to the flexible member (for example, to the transplant or to the sinew) and prevention of tearing of the flexible element from the bone.
