FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: conveyor tape speed control method involves measurement of tape speed and the qin incoming cargo traffic, tape speed change by conveyor drive control. Tape speed is measured at the point of loading and one of the following actions is performed: tape speed is increased by the q1 value/ψ during time Δt1, if the qin incoming cargo traffic exceeds the qout conveyor receiving capacity, where q1 is the ratio of nominal efficiency of the conveyor to the selected number of tape speed control stages at increased speed, ψ - nominal linear load; tape speed is decreased by the q2 value/ψ during time Δt2, if the qin incoming cargo traffic is less than the qout conveyor receiving capacity by the q2 value, where q2 is the ratio of nominal efficiency of conveyor to the selected number of tape speed control stages at decreased speed; tape speed is left without changing, if the value of the qin incoming cargo flow is in the range of values of qout-q2 up to qout; conveyor loading is stopped without changing the tape speed if the qin incoming traffic exceeds the qmax conveyor maximum receiving capacity.

EFFECT: efficiency of conveyor operability is increased.
