Method of converting a 2D image into a quasi-stereoscopic 3D image by projecting an initial 2D image on a composite 3D surface followed by photographing the surface with two cameras for producing a left image and a right image of a stereo pair, comprises forming said surface by a small amount of simple surfaces, for example planes, or Gaussian surfaces, or fragments of cylindrical surfaces, or fragments of ellipsoid surfaces.
EFFECT: technical result is automation of image conversion.
