FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in making composite rod parts like valves. Rod workpiece after gradient heating of landing portion is installed in a receiver and rod cavity of array with support in end of pusher. Workpiece is coaxially placed in cavity of array with a gap between them. During gradient heating, end part of landing portion of rod workpiece is heated due to heat transfer. Heated head workpiece is arranged on end part of landing portion of rod workpiece. In head workpiece a blind hole is formed by indentation of rod workpiece therein. Then workpieces are deformed together. During combined deformation a shell is formed on surface of rod workpiece by extrusion. Heating temperature of workpieces is determined using given ratio.
EFFECT: providing higher strength of permanent joint of workpieces, low labour input of process and consumption of energy resources.
