FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: core metal blank is placed in the die cavity. The head metal blank is heated to the forging temperature and placed in the die at the end of the core blank. Then, the head blank is moved to ensure indentation of the core blank therein. At the beginning of the indentation process, an annular ridge of a wedge-shaped section is formed on the end surface of the head blank adjacent to the contour of the core blank end. The ridge is directed by a sharp apex toward the movement of the head blank with the formation of a working edge. The ridge is formed by extruding metal into a conical cavity of a wedge shape made in the support ring, which is mounted in the die cavity supported by an elastic member. With further indentation of the core blank into the leading edge of the ridge, the side surface of the core blank is stripped.
EFFECT: improving the quality of the resulting parts.
