SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in diesel engines. Proposed method is intended for system (5) of the engine containing diesel engine (6), at least one device for reducing toxicity of emissions, and oil for engine lubrication. Method consists in the fact that engine (6) operation mode is adaptively changed based on at least one of the following parameters: current state of the device for reducing toxicity of emissions and current state of engine oil, to reduce intensity of soot formation in engine. Control of engine (6) operation to reduce intensity of soot formation is performed when current state of the device for reducing toxicity of emissions goes beyond the limit. Device for reducing toxicity of emissions is a system of diesel particulate filter (7) which comprises function of feeding the additive contained in tank (608) for additives. Quantity of additive contained in tank (608) is taken for the current state of the device for reducing toxicity of emissions. Disclosed is a device for control of engine operation.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of intensity of soot in engine to increase time span between regeneration procedures of diesel particulate filter.
