SUBSTANCE: control method of soot combustion in a particulate filter of vehicle diesel engine comprises the following stages: a differential pressure measurement at the particulate filter; measurement of the exhaust gas flow through the particulate filter or measurement of the exhaust gas volume flow through the particulate filter; normalization of the measured differential pressure in the particulate filter in time by dividing the measured differential pressure to the measured exhaust gas flow through the particulate filter or to the exhaust gas volume flow through the particulate filter; calculation of a gradient value on the basis of at least the changes in the normalized differential pressure in the particulate filter; regeneration control of the particulate filter depending on at least the calculated gradient value.
EFFECT: means for predicting the beginning of the uncontrolled heating process, not based on the temperature measurement is created during the invention exploitation.
