FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Body moisture meter, held by an armpit of the subject, for measuring the amount of moisture of the subject by being in contact with the skin surface of the armpit. Body moisture meter comprises measuring unit configured with a possibility to set an electric signal, conversion means which converts the signal from the sensor unit to the amount of body water, display means which displays the amount of body water. Lower surface of the housing of the insertion unit is formed by being curved toward the distal surface, and a measurement unit is held on the peripheral surface of an insertion unit. Changing means which changes the display mode by the display means so as to call users' attention in a case in which the amount of body water obtained by the conversion means is lower than a first reference value. Control unit is configured to assess the conformity of the calculated number of water content to one of the following values: to the first reference value or to the bigger value which is smaller than the first reference one, and to the second reference value or to the bigger value which is smaller than the second reference one. First reference value is a value corresponding to a predetermined value between 25 % to 40 % in a case in which signals outputted when the sensor unit measures water and when it measures air are allotted to 100 % and 0 % amounts of body water. Signal supplied by a measurement unit, and the amount of water in the body are linearly correlated. Predetermined value is 35 %, and the second reference value is 25 %. Changing means changes the display mode by the display means to still another mode in a case in which the amount of body water obtained from the conversion means is lower than a second reference value and the second reference value is a value smaller than the predetermined value. Method of controlling display of meter is disclosed.
EFFECT: inventions provide simplification and easy measurement of body moisture content to prevent dehydration.
