FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary science, particularly to a method for prediction of postpartum diseases in sows. In peripheral blood serum of sows on 85-95th day of pregnancy the concentration of dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate is being determined and if its content is less than 25 ng/ml, postpartum diseases are being diagnosed.
EFFECT: using the presented method provides higher accuracy of prediction of postpartum diseases in sows and taking well-timed therapeutic and preventive actions.
