FIELD: energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroelectric turbine for generating electricity by extracting power from the tidal flow of water through the turbine. Turbine comprises a stator and shaftless rotor housed for rotation within the stator. Stator defines an opening within which the rotor is constrained. Opening is being shaped and dimensioned relative to the rotor, to provide the rotor with a floating axis. Rotor comprises an array of magnets, and a corresponding array of coils are placed on the stator. Coils are arranged in groups, inside the coils are arranged in circle at equal distance from each other and are electrically connected together in series.
EFFECT: avoiding electric imbalance of coils due to eccentric rotor rotation.
