FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of lanthanum (III) from salt solutions. Method involves floatation extraction using an organic phase in form of isooctyl alcohol, and a collector in form of an anionic surfactant - sodium dodecyl sulphate in concentration, corresponding to stoichiometry: La+3+3NaDS=La(DS)3+3Na+, where La+3 is a lanthanum (III) cation, DS- is a dodecyl sulphate ion. Floatation extraction is carried out at pH 6.8-8.5 and ratio of organic and aqueous phases 1/20.
EFFECT: invention provides high degree of extraction of lanthanum (III).
