FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to weapons, namely to barrels of automatic small arms. Barrel of an automatic gun comprises a muzzle, which is brought into the state of bending vibrations during firing. Barrel has a damping device to damp the bending vibrations. Damping is performed at friction between a radially projecting friction ring located on the muzzle and a friction element loaded by a spring element. According to one version, one friction element acts on both sides of the friction ring and is supported to be movable in the longitudinal direction relative to the muzzle. In another version, the damping device comprises a body. Body of the damping device together with the friction element and the spring element is made with the possibility of longitudinal movement relative to the muzzle but radially fixed.
EFFECT: provided is uniform compensation of bending vibrations in a wider temperature range.
