FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a Just A Bunch Of Drives (JBOD) and, in particular, to a JBOD containing a BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) module. JBOD (1) contains expander (11) for hard disk drives (HDD), switch (13) and BMC module (12). HDD-expander (11) is connected to multiple hard disks (5). Switch (13) connects HDD-expander (11) with port (14) of connection for connection of the first transmission channel or connects HDD-expander (11) with BMC module (12) for connection of the second transmission channel. BMC module (12) is connected to the Ethernet through network port (17). When BMC module (12) receives a command transmitted over the Ethernet, it commands switch (13) to switch over to the connection of the second transmission channel, BMC module (12) respectively performs an interactive operation with HDD-expander (11) in accordance with the transmitted over the Ethernet command.
EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of both local and remote JBOD control.
