SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for controlling the browser cache, in which information about multiple web pages, the user has visited within one or more web browsing sessions, is stored in the browser cache on the user's device; logical relationships are defined between the multiple web pages stored in the browser cache; the multiple web pages are linked to one or more clusters of web pages depending on the certain logical relationships among the multiple web pages; information that is associated with one or more clusters of web pages in the browser cache is identified upon determining the used browser cache volume equal to or greater than the threshold; a web page or a cluster of web pages is identified for deletion from the browser cache based on the criteria established for the identified information associated with one or more clusters of web pages; and one or more web pages are removed from the browser cache based on the certain criteria.
