FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a card reading device made with possibility of eliminating the reduction of accuracy of reading and recording magnetic data even in case of moving in the direction of the width, magnetic strip cards which complies with the international standard or Japanese industrial standard, and processing of a card. Card reading device contains a moving mechanism, card moving channel, magnetic head, means of moving the magnetic head that moves the magnetic head in the direction of the width of the card moving channel, and rest elements onto which one end of a card rests in the direction of the movement of the card. Card moving device comprises a drive, moving rollers that are arranged on both ends of the moving channel in the direction of its width and move a card until one end of the card rests against the rest elements, torque limiter which is arranged on the path of power transfer from the drive to a moving roller.

EFFECT: elimination of reduction of accuracy of reading and recording magnetic data.
