METHOD OF SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF CHRONIC INFLAMMATION OF PILONIDAL CYST Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2602680 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, surgery. Epithelial coccygeal passage with all opening holes and subcutaneous tissue is excised to coccyx fascia. Hemostasis and suturing of skin incision edges with ligatures to surface of sacrum and coccyx in staggered order are performed. Porous sponge or gauze bandage, impregnated with activated carbon and colloidal silver solution is applied to open wound surface. Wound area is covered with polymer film insulator with self-adhesive edges. Continuous vacuum drainage of wound is made through incision in insulator 1-2 times for 3-4 days without changing bandages. After complete cleaning of wound surface control bacteriological sowing is made. Sutures are removed on 10-12 days.

EFFECT: method of surgical treatment of complicated pilonidal cyst provides formation of clean wound preventing anaerobic flora growth in course of wound healing, reduces time of exposed purulent cavities cleansing and healing due to efficient, prolonged, controlled drainage of open wounds.
