FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuously controlled transmissions. Toroidal traction drive with controlled speed includes drive disk (11) and driven disk (10). Disks (10, 11) have common axis of rotation. Each disk (10, 11) inner surface is formed to produce shape, reverse to toroid. Besides, drive includes roller units, which are located between disks (10, 11) and each of them comprising roller (1). Disks (10, 11) are together pressed to roller units located between them by clamping force. Each unit is connected with appropriate turning trunnion (28). With trunnion (28) rotation around its axis of rotation, trunnion (28) applies control force to corresponding roller unit at point (38, 39), relating to corresponding unit. Applied control force provides control of corresponding unit roller (1) and assignment of other contact points (38, 39) to it, wherein point, in which control force is applied, is located with displacement from trunnion axis of rotation at fixed distance and with displacement from contact points (38, 39) crossing line.
EFFECT: increased range of gear ratio change.
