FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices of enhanced gas distribution in the reactor. More specifically, various embodiments of the present invention relate to spargers providing enhanced gas distribution in bubbling column reactors. Bubbling column reactors comprises reaction zone, sparger located in a reaction zone for introduction of fluid medium into the reaction zone. Sparger comprises, at least, three radially-extending fluid distribution conduits, wherein each fluid distribution conduits has at least three fluid medium outlet holes. Radial interval between fluid medium outlet holes of each fluid distribution conduit decreases outwardly. Maximum diameter of the sparger is at least 90 % of the diameter of the reaction zone at the height, where the said sparger is located. Sparger is made so that mixing of the reaction medium is manly performed by upward movement of gas bubbles released from said at least three fluid medium outlet holes through the reaction medium so, that less than 5 % of reaction medium mixing is ensured by mechanical mixing.
EFFECT: better mixing of the reaction medium.
