SUBSTANCE: invention relates to data exchange. Disclosed is a method implemented in a server system, having a processor and memory for storing one or more programs, executed by processor, and intended for data exchange between two client devices, wherein method includes steps of, obtaining, from a first client device, a first data acquisition request, wherein first data acquisition request includes (i) a device identifier identifying a second client device, distinct from first client device, and (ii) a search parameter identifier identifying a search parameter type, value of which shall be provided by second client device; identifying second client device, from a plurality of client devices, in accordance with device identifier; issuing a second data acquisition request to second device, second data acquisition request including search parameter identifier; obtaining, from second client device, search parameter in accordance with search parameter identifier, wherein second client device determines search parameter value based on search parameter type; obtaining one or more search results in accordance with search parameter; and providing at least one search result from said one or more search results to first client device for display to a user of first client device.
