METHOD OF MAKING THREAD-REINFORCED HOLLOW-FIBRE MEMBRANES AROUND SOLUBLE CORE Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC B01D69/08

Abstract RU 2605251 C2

FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer separation membranes in form of small capillary tubes or hollow fibres. Methods of making reinforced hollow-fibre membrane, including following steps: application of reinforcing fibres on a moving core, casting paste on top of reinforcing fibres and core, formation of a membrane from paste, removal of core, and shrinkage of reinforcing fibres before casting paste on top thereof, wrapping core with fibres for preliminary winding before application of reinforcing fibres on moving core, and removal of fibres of preliminary winding after step of casting paste on top of reinforcing fibres, where reinforcing fibres include base fibres and winding fibres, where reinforcing fibres include a polymer which is soluble in paste from which a membrane is formed, where membrane has one or more of following limits: a) outer diameter core from 0.5 to 1.0 mm; b) ratio of outer diameter of membrane to its inner diameter of 1.5 or more; c) from 4 to 12 base threads, preferably covering substantially whole circumference of core; d) 1 or 2 winding threads with spacing of 1.5 to 4.5 mm; f) shrinkage reinforcing fibres at a temperature of 100 °C or higher prior to application of paste; g) application of paste at temperature 50 °C or higher; h) application of paste at pressure 138 kPa (20 pounds/sq. inch) or less; and i) ratio of diameter of spinneret hole to outer diameter of core 1.75 or less.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of process of making membrane.
