SUBSTANCE: using is in electrical engineering, shipbuilding. According to invention, multi-shaft vessel electric power plant comprises steam generating plant with accident protection system, turbines, main synchronous generators, controlled semiconductor power converters, propulsion motors, at least two main distribution buses, each of which is receiving power from two or more parallel operating main synchronous generators, critical consumers power buses, matching units, electric power converters and supply feeders from shore. Plant includes additional distribution buses, which number is equal to that of main distribution buses, mounted synchronous generators, connected in parallel to additional distribution buses and matching device, included in between additional distribution buses, critical consumers power supply busbars and accident protection system, in its turn critical consumers power supply buses are connected to additional buses via matching units and stabilized converters. At that, main and additional distribution buses are connected to each other via controlled rectifiers and driven inverters, between main distribution buses disconnector is installed.
EFFECT: higher reliability and efficiency, broader functional capabilities of electric power plant.
